Troll Hunter Blu Ray

Three student filmmakers venture into the most isolated region of Norway on a mission to confront a notorious bear poacher and discover that the elusive hunters true prey is something far more extraordinary when they begin hearing rumours that giant trolls lurk deep in the countryside. Thomas Kalle and Johanna thought they were pursuing a criminal but after locating Hans with the help of some local hunters they learn that bears are not his true target but a mere smokescreen to obscure what hes really after trolls. A secret government agency has been conspiring to cover up the existence of these massive monsters but occasionally the trolls manage to break their containment area. When that happens it falls on Hans to capture the creatures at all costs. Trolls are highly sensitive to sunlight and traditional weapons only make them angry. Instead of carrying a gun Hans carries an enormous UV light capable of stopping even the fiercest of trolls dead in its tracks. The only way that humans can travel in the area undetected is to cover their bodies in a foulsmelling concoction that makes them invisible to the trolls highly developed sense of smell. Lately the long hours and grueling work conditions have been taking their toll on Hans so when the student filmmakers show up looking for a good story he decides that its time for the truth to come out no matter what the cost. Now if the group can just survive long enough to get their incredible footage to the outside world they could be responsible for revealing the most impressive cryptozoological discovery in the history of humankind. Zombieland Blu Ray

If theres been a zombie apocalypse and youre roadtripping alone though the wasteland you could do worse than run into Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) a bourbonswilling badboy buttkicker with a really cool car. This is where the careful hero of Zombieland a kid nicknamed Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) finds himself early in the film and you can hardly blame him for hitching a ride with this swaggering Alpha Male. Still they have their hands full not only with gibbering zombies but also with two sisters (Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin) who will stop at nothing to reach a Disneylandlike amusement park in L.A. Although Zombieland gets off to a rocky start with Columbuss overlycute narration (hes got a list of rules for surviving in the zombie world) it settles into an amusing comedy regularly interrupted by bouts of bloodletting. The roadtrip stuff is enough fun that when the movie does arrive at its version of Disneyland the air goes out of it a little; sure theres a giant zombie blowout with entrails flying but its not quite the same. Director Ruben Fleischer keeps the gags coming although the movie is often funnier in its odd little asides (both Eisenberg and Harrelson are expert at this) than in its official jokes. Cert 15.
